Destinations Tanzania is home to some of the most iconic wildlife parks in Africa. We cover:

Northern Circuit

Serengeti National Park: Famous for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. The park is also home to the Big Five and diverse ecosystems ranging from vast savannas to riverine forests.

Ngorongoro Crater: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this massive volcanic caldera boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Expect to see rhinos, lions, elephants, and a dense population of flamingos in Lake Magadi.

Tarangire National Park: Renowned for its large herds of elephants and towering baobab trees, Tarangire is a fantastic spot for spotting predators, migratory birds, and seasonal wetlands teeming with wildlife

Lake Manyara National Park: Famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos, this scenic park features a mix of forests, savannas, and wetlands, making it a great destination for diverse wildlife viewing.

Arusha National Park: A smaller yet unique park offering stunning landscapes, from lush rainforests to open savannas. It is home to Mount Meru and provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching, canoeing, and walking safaris.

Southern Circuit

Nyerere National Park (Selous): One of the largest protected wildlife areas in Africa, it offers remote and untouched landscapes filled with elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and wild dogs. Boat safaris along the Rufiji River are a highlight.

Ruaha National Park: A hidden gem featuring vast savannas, rugged escarpments, and the highest concentration of elephants in East Africa. It is also known for its large prides of lions and diverse predator populations.

Mikumi National Park: Often compared to the Serengeti, Mikumi provides excellent game viewing opportunities with its open grasslands, abundant wildlife, and easy accessibility from Dar es Salaam

Western Circuit

Katavi National Park: One of Tanzania’s most remote parks, offering raw wilderness experiences with massive herds of buffalo, hippo-filled rivers, and thriving predator populations.

Mahale Mountains National Park: A paradise for chimpanzee trekking, Mahale boasts stunning mountains, crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, and lush forests teeming with primates and birds.

Gombe Stream National Park: Made famous by Dr. Jane Goodall, this small park is home to one of the best chimpanzee trekking experiences in the world, set against the beautiful backdrop of Lake Tanganyika.
